107-Year-Old Lantex embracing youth and apprenticeships

Lantex this year is in its 107th year in business and it has a long tradition of employing young local people to come and work in the business. Our works manager joined at 16 and has just celebrated his 55th birthday and he joined us via North Lancs Training Group.

Lantex has been working in partnership with North Lancs Training group over the last four years and it has been very successful. We have taken on four apprentices in the last three years across a wide range of skill sets. 

Jack joined us in March 2022 and qualified as a fabric cutter with a distinction and is now a valuable member of our workforce.

Henry joined us in May 2023 and took his apprenticeship in digital marketing and showed a great skill in adapting existing software systems and has recently been appointed operations manager.

Nicole joined us September 2024 and is doing a sewing machine apprenticeship and has a very good eye for the creative and is already a very skilled machinist.

Tilly is the latest apprentice to join the team as a business administrator and Tilly has hit the ground running and has already made herself a valued member of the team. Great skills on the phone and email looking after customers as well as the daily workings of the business.

It is a big well done to all of them and we at Lantex could not be prouder of them.

This is a success story, young people are joining a historic textile company with a great heritage and gaining qualifications and the most important thing being taken on in full time employment at the end of the apprenticeship. North Lancs Training group and Lantex have now built up a great working partnership.
