Lantex Face Masks Allow HBC Staff to Breathe Easy

For more than a century, Lantex has been an expert manufacturer of bespoke textile products. Over this time, our company has continually grown and evolved, taking advantage of new technology to improve our range of products and services. We were therefore delighted to use our unmatched knowledge and expertise to produce 1,000 face masks, which were used by staff at Hyndburn Borough Council to protect them during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our longstanding location in East Lancashire has, since the dawn of the industrial revolution, been a traditional hub of cotton and textile manufacture. Lantex has always been proud to continue this tradition: producing essential face coverings for Hyndburn Borough Council is just one of the myriad ways in which Lantex supports the area and its community.

Cllr. Miles Parkinson OBE, the leader of Hyndburn Borough Council, said: "When the pandemic first hit it was essential that services were able to continue... we also needed to protect our staff as much as possible. We put out a call to local Hyndburn manufacturers asking for help with masks, Lantex stepped up, were a perfect fit for what we needed and have been a pleasure to work with throughout.”

Manufacturing the masks, something which had never been done by Lantex before, did not cause us any problems at all: no new equipment or staff training was necessary. Paul Chalker, our Production Director, said: "...our workforce is already very skilled and as a business we are adaptable. We frequently work with customers to develop new products and are more than happy to take enquiries for any job, big or small."

After the initial uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Lantex is once again fully open for business: we are of course operating in full adherence with social distancing guidelines.
